Marion Joan Whitney


The family of the late Mrs Marion Joan Whitney announce her passing on the 9th June 2019 at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, aged 80 years. Marion leaves her beloved husband Harry, very loving children David and Lindsey, daughter-in-law Clare. Son-in-law Wayne and was a devoted grandma to Robyn, Rhianne, Max and Heather. She will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 20th June 2019 with a service and committal at Stockport Crematorium Rowan Chapel at 12.15 pm.

Family flowers only please but donations, if desired, are to The Macmillan Nurses.

Bright attire by request to reflect Marion’s personality.

David Stanley Wiedemann


David Stanley Wiedemann passed peacefully away at his home in Glossop, on Monday 10th June 2019 surrounded by his loving family. The beloved Husband of Lynn, cherished Dad to Nicola, Justin and Jonathan; Father-in-Law to Andrew, Elizabeth and Gemma. Much loved Grandad to Abigail, Max, Dan, Finlay, Heidi, Joseph, Thomas and Harry. Great Grandad to Oscar and George. Sister Brunhilda and Brother-in-law Lawrence. David will be so sadly missed by all his beautiful family and friends.

The funeral service is to be held on Friday 21st June 2019 at the Immaculate Conception RC Church, Charlesworth, at 1.30 pm and will be followed by a committal at Dukinfield Crematorium at 3.00 pm.

Family flowers only, donations in memory of David would be gratefully received for the British Heart Foundation.

Eileen Tagg (née Higginbottom)


It is with much sadness that Eileen’s family announce her death. She passed away peacefully at home on Friday 14th June, with her family beside her.

Eileen was the dearly beloved wife of Robert, much loved mum of Elizabeth, Micheal and Angela and loving nana to her eight grandchildren. She will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends.

There will be a Requiem Mass at St. Mary Crowned Catholic Church, Glossop on Wednesday 26th June 2019 at 12 noon followed by interment at Glossop Cemetery.

Marjorie Jane Chapman


The death occurred peacefully in Oakford Manor Care Home on the 3rd June 2019 with her family by her side of the late Marjorie Chapman aged 101 years.

Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late Len and leaves her very loving daughters Adrea, Angela and Jennifer; she was a much loved nana, little nana and great great nana and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 2nd July at Hollingworth Methodist Church at 12.45 pm and will be followed by a committal at Dukinfield Crematorium at 2.00 pm.

Donations, if desired, are to The Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.
